We are a flourishing and very friendly member of The Arts Society, a leading arts charity.

From October to July we meet every third Wednesday of the month in the beautiful surroundings of Devizes Town Hall and/or on Zoom to hear an inspiring lecture from one of the country’s leading arts experts. Topics cover a wide range of interests from architecture and china to painting and sculpture and much more besides.

We also hold a separate special interest day annually so that a topic can be examined in greater depth. In recent years we have held special interest days on: Assisi, glass, jewellery, silverware and the use of light in painting.

In addition to the monthly lecture, members of the committee organise trips to exhibitions, places of historical interest and entertainment.

We are particularly passionate supporters of Young Arts giving support to projects which help children and young people to learn about the arts and to take part in hands on projects. Members of our Society are also involved in Church Recording, the setting up of Children's Discovery Trails and Heritage Volunteering.

Welcome to prospective members of The Arts Society Devizes.

Our membership year starts in October and runs through to July. We have a membership limit of 220 people. Our last lecture of the year is held in July.

Our annual membership fee is £50 per person.

Members’ guests are welcome but we do ask for a voluntary donation towards our costs. We suggest £7 as an appropriate amount. Places are however limited and must be booked in advance. Please contact the membership secretary (Judy Page on 01380 818510 ) to see if space is available.

Lectures are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except August and September) in the Town Hall, Devizes, SN10 1BN (01380 722160).

All lectures are back in the Town Hall now, no more Zoom. But we will obviously keep an eye on the Covid situation and adapt to what is safe and sensible.

We are serving coffee and tea before the lecture again, £2.50 per cup.

The meetings begin promptly at 10.50 am. There is a policy of No Admission once the lecture begins at 11.00 am.
