Events for 2024-2025
Here is the list of our lectures for this coming year starting in October 2024. Our lectures will now be held in the Ceres Hall, on the ground floor of the Corn Exchange, except for March 2025 when we will be back in the Town Hall.

Update January 2025
We trust that you have weathered the minus degrees and, knowing each day there is now more sun, are uplifted, even if unwell.
While the weather still tricks us, there was no such trickery with Caroline Holmes in her lecture on the Australian Impressionist Painters. Her subject knowledge treated us to a series of wonders from Australia that many of us have never seen or known. Caroline delivered these with her research, style and enthusiasm, as image after image showed us the different type of light the sun gives to that country and how The Heidelberg School captured and entrances us still with their impressions.
(An apology from Devizes Town Council for the late heating switch on has been received. )
As explained previously our lectures will now take place in the Ceres Hall on the ground floor of the Corn Exchange ( except for March when we will return to the Town Hall for that one lecture ). This move from the Town Hall Assembly Room was originally due to repairs to the Town Hall roof but is now permanent. Please see the January 2025 Newsletter for the reasons.

WELCOME TO THE ARTS SOCIETY DEVIZES
We are a member of The Arts Society, a leading arts charity, and are based in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Except during August and September, we meet every third Wednesday of the month to hear an inspiring lecture from one of the country’s leading arts experts. Topics cover a wide range of interests from architecture and china to painting and sculpture and much more besides. Our lectures now take place in the larger space of the Ceres Hall in the Corn Exchange in Devizes Market Place.
