Coronavirus Update October 2021

Our first meeting in the Town Hall for over 18 months was a very happy occasion, even with our numbers reduced to half, to make it as safe as possible. And our Zoomcast of the lecture at the same time, meant the majority of members had access. This is the way we will continue to operate for the rest of this year at least. Safety, as well as service being paramount. Every member who wants to attend in the Town Hall advises us and goes into a draw for the 75 seats in the auditorium. Those who are given a place are advised and given a specific number. Committee members are at guiding places from the entrance onwards to help and check.

Our 2021/22 lectures continue the varied interests, variety and professionalism we always enjoy. Please take a look at the details under Our Events > Events 2021-2022.

Various societies in our Wessex area, as well as the Wessex Area themselves, have kindly arranged a number of Zoom Lectures and Study Days and Virtual Tours throughout the year that we can join as guests. See Our Events > Events 2021-2022 page for further details.

The Arts Society HQ Connected Section continues to host a wide variety of online lectures, especially their At Home and Instant Expert series which are available from our Our Events > Other Sources page on this website.

And finally please see the details of our Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 7th December.

Best wishes to you all,

Kim Wright, Chairman

WELCOME TO THE ARTS SOCIETY DEVIZES

We are a member of The Arts Society, a leading arts charity, and are based in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Except during August and September, we meet every third Wednesday of the month to hear an inspiring lecture from one of the country’s leading arts experts. Topics cover a wide range of interests from architecture and china to painting and sculpture and much more besides. In normal circumstances our lectures are held in the beautiful surroundings of Devizes Town Hall, but currently they are all via Zoom.
