As you are aware, the progression of Coronavirus means changes for all of us, including meeting together. The majority of our members are in the 70+ ‘at risk’ group, as defined by Government, therefore the March, April and May meetings will not go ahead. And neither will our visit to Chawton House (21st April 2020) but we hope to reschedule the trip once the crisis is over, possibly later in the year. Naturally, we will be following developments and sending out updates if our current decisions should need to change.

As a distraction, could we recommend the "Instant Expert" series from The Arts Society London. These are mini text and picture lectures from Arts Society lecturers on line . You can see the latest one by going to and clicking on the picture that is headed "…Instant Expert". It's on the front page. Here you can also sign up to have future episodes emailed direct to your email. I shall forward one on Andy Warhol to you in a separate email.

Our best wishes for a happy and healthy time until we do meet again.

Devizes Committee

We are a member of The Arts Society, a leading arts charity, and are based in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Except during August and September, we meet every third Wednesday of the month in the beautiful surroundings of Devizes Town Hall to hear an inspiring lecture from one of the country’s leading arts experts. Topics cover a wide range of interests from architecture and china to painting and sculpture and much more besides.
